Another Major Milestone in the University’s Commitment to Excellence in Nursing Education
Atiba University Oyo has recorded another remarkable milestone in its commitment to excellence in healthcare education as 100% of its Nursing students who participated in the September 2026, conducted Professional Midwifery Examination of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) passed the examination.
The outstanding result has been received with immense joy and gratitude by the Founder and President of the University, the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, students, parents and the entire Atiba University Oyo community.
The achievement is particularly significant because the NMCN Professional Midwifery Examination is a rigorous professional assessment designed to determine the competence and readiness of candidates for professional practice. The 100% success recorded by Atiba University Oyo therefore represents a strong demonstration of the quality, commitment and discipline underpinning the University’s Nursing education and clinical training.
The Founder and President of Atiba University Oyo, James Adesokan Ojebode, PhD, JP, expressed delight over the outstanding performance of the University’s Nursing students. He congratulated the students, lecturers, clinical instructors and the entire Nursing Department for the achievement, while commending the University’s Management for sustaining the culture of academic and professional excellence.
The Founder reiterated the University’s vision of providing quality university education that combines academic knowledge with practical competence, discipline, character and service to humanity.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Olawale Okeniyi, described the result as a “remarkable testimony to the dedication and resilience of our students and the unwavering commitment of our academic and clinical staff.”
According to him:
“We are immensely proud of our Nursing students for this outstanding performance. A 100% success rate in a professional examination of this nature is a significant achievement and a source of great joy to the entire Atiba University Oyo community.”
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the result reflects the University’s deliberate investment in quality teaching, practical and clinical training, student mentoring, continuous assessment and professional preparation.
He added:
“Our objective is not merely to prepare students to pass examinations. We are committed to producing competent, compassionate, disciplined and ethically grounded nursing professionals who will contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery in Nigeria and beyond.”
Prof. Okeniyi further assured that the University would continue to strengthen its Nursing programme through improved academic and clinical training, enhanced infrastructure, qualified personnel, strategic partnerships and continuous quality assurance.
The Registrar of Atiba University Oyo, Mrs. Oyepeju Ayomide Ogunseye, Esq., congratulated the successful candidates and the Nursing Department on the achievement. She noted that the result provides further encouragement for the University to remain committed to sound academic administration, professional standards and continuous improvement across its programmes.
She urged the successful candidates to see the achievement as the beginning of a greater responsibility to uphold the dignity, ethics and values of the nursing profession.
Management particularly commends the Head of the Nursing Department, Dr. Adenike Kadri, members of the academic staff, clinical instructors, preceptors and other professionals who contributed to the students’ preparation for the examination. Their dedication to classroom teaching, practical training, clinical exposure, mentorship and student supervision has played an important role in this achievement.
The University also appreciates its clinical partners for providing opportunities for students to acquire the practical competencies required for professional nursing and midwifery practice.
